It’s everyone’s job to protect our children

This section is for parents, people who care for children, friends, relatives, neighbours and anyone else who is worried about a child’s safety or wants to learn more about how to protect children.

All children and young people have the right to be protected and kept safe from harm. We all have a responsibility to help protect children and young people – whether we work with children or families, are a parent, a family member or a concerned member of the community.

If you are worried about a child or young person you can call Social Work on 0300 300 1199 or Police Scotland on 101. If you think a child is in immediate danger you should Police Scotland on 999.
